Pick up artists have been using these routines for ages to achieve dating success, and you can too! Let’s discuss a few of them. These techniques are the same ones used by highly successful PUAs to establish their successful dating relationships, but they’re really nothing more than stories developed to make you look great.

Don’t expect me to go over some of the older, tired routines like “the jealous girlfriend” or “the cube.” We’re going to review some of the newer approaches.

The Present Routine – You can have a lot of fun with this and get a lot of information that you can parlay into other conversation topics.

It couldn’t be easier – just go up to a group of girls and let them know that a business crisis called your buddy out of town unexpectedly. He’s given you money – say $200, or whatever – to get his girlfriend a birthday present. The problem is, you don’t know what to get her, and so you’re hoping they’ll give you some advice.

This approach is beautifully simple – whatever the girls suggest you should get your buddies girlfriend, that’s something they themselves would like! The girl who suggests a day at a spa is a girl who herself loves to be pampered, for instance. Perhaps one of the girls suggests costly accessories like Prada and Guess. Well, guess who has expensive tastes? Think about how useful this information can be – especially if you’re patient and work at it, getting the girls to give you advice beyond the obvious. What if a girl tells you to get the girlfriend a book of poetry by a particular author?

Dating for Dummies – Women love men with a good sense of humor, and this approach will highlight yours.

You need to get one of those terrible dating books – something with a title like, say, “Dating for Dummies.”

Carry it with you whenever you think you might run into women to meet. Sit down and open it up to the chapter about pickup lines you should never, ever use. (Don’t worry, there’ll be a section like that.)

Now you can have fun – go up to a woman you’d really like to meet, hold the book open in front of you, and start reading the bad pickup lines out loud. You can get an awful lot of mileage out of this approach – look for the really terrible lines like “Do you come here often, baby?” and “If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?”

This approach will get you some laughs, unless she’s got absolutely no sense of humor at all, and she’ll let down her guard. You can even put on an innocent air and ask her if it “worked.”

Pick up artists have worked on these routines and perfected them, and now you can use them as a way to break the ice and start talking with the attractive women you’ve been dreaming of. Your purpose in meeting here, though, is to establish a rapport that you can use to ask her out or call her. To establish rapport, you have to open up wo her, share something personal about yourself. Try a meaningful story about an incident at work, or maybe something that happened at school. Women respond positively to men who open up to them personally, and you’ll be able to feel the connection building.

It’s not my style to lie about who I am, and I hope that’s true for you as well. That’s why I’m not going to share any of the many canned PUA routines I’ve heard. Think back on your life and you’ll see that there are tons and tons of interesting stories – you probably never looked at them from the perspective of using them as stories that show what a great guy you are.

You’re a PUA-in-training. As such, you should be building your own routines based on your own life experiences. Pick up artists are made, not born. It’s time for you to start making yourself into a PUA by experimenting with the routines discussed here and getting familiar with approaching and talking with new women. Once you’re more familiar with PUA routines, you’ll probably be able to take some of your own life experiences and turn them into good PUA routines of your own!
