Looking For Cheap Wedding Flowers? This Out-Of-The-Box Idea May Cut Your Costs By 50% (Or More!)

This is something that has been going around from bride to bride, and now you can pass along this great money saving tip, too! I personally have not tried it yet (but I cannot wait to try it or recommend it to the next bride that comes along!)

If you book your wedding on a weekend, there is a potential of up to four other brides having their wedding on the same weekend. You have potential bookings for

Friday Night

Saturday Morning/Afternoon

Saturday Afternoon/Evening

Sunday Morning/Afternoon

Sunday Afternoon/Evening

You might be able to figure out where I’m headed with this.

Think about if you could get in touch with any other bride having their special day at the same venue and on the same weekend. Then you can see if they might be interested in sharing the same flowers with you including centerpieces, decorations, etc. This way you could divide the cost. You might not be able to for a bouquet if there is a bouquet toss, and depending on colors and themes for the ceremony and reception you might not be able to share everything, but some is better than none and it is worth your time to find out.

If you can share the costs with just one other bride, that is cutting your cost already in half of what you can share. If you manage to work it out with two other brides, that is a 66% reduction from your budget. And so forth! Cheap wedding flowers? Yes quite possible with this tip.

Now, how to get in touch with other wedding it comes to getting in touch with other brides:

Well, you may have to use a bit of persuasion to get the venue coordinator to give you the contact info. It might be good to book the venue first, build a relationship and rapport with the venue, and then mention that you are interested in cutting your costs and seeing if one of the other brides on that weekend can share the flower costs with you.

One example is when you meet with the vendor to discuss catering: catering is one item on the checklist that has a huge range of what you can and can’t have. You can let on that you would certainly love package X but you can only afford package Y. Bring a friend, spouse, mom, etc. and steer the conversation to where you could possibly cut more money out to devote to catering (see? then the venue makes more money)

(I bet you can see where this is going: the idea is that if you are able to save money in one part of your budget it may be possible to divert more towards another part of your budget, specifically the catering i.e. towards the venue!)

Work in that maybe you can find out if other brides are willing to share flower costs with you at that point. It’s definitely worth a shot.

Just to manage your expectations after hearing about this idea, I have not yet personally tried it or had a chance to recommend it to any friends yet, so I don’t know if it will work. It definitely sounds like something worth trying and could potentially save you thousands of dollars on your flowers and decorations.
